I got a 2.0tdci mk4 mondeo (90k miles) and I have similar issues usually between 1800-2500rpm. Hesitate for acceleration, and vibrate sometimes just little, sometimes really hard. If I keep the speed the vibration stay, but as soon as I change speed the vibration disappear. Doing only under load. Definitely engine related.
